GOD'S GLORIOUS CHOREOGRAPHY

MANY YEARS AGO, prior to finding Christian Science, I was hospitalized and feeling stuck in a stressful and unhealthy life. With a tough work environment to go to each day, I prayed a special prayer. It went something like this: "God, I'd like to spend the next part of my life working for You. What do You want me to do?" I yearned for a job where I could feel free to share who I was and what I had to offer with others.

After my release from the hospital, I went to a counselor who talked with me about prayer. She told me to stop all the mental chatter and just listen to God. I did this for three days. Then I had to go to the doctor for a checkup. I intuitively knew my stress issues had nothing to do with sickness and my body. But they had lots to do with a hunger for Spirit. The doctor was astonished at my improved condition. He asked me what I was doing, and I told him I was listening to God each day. "It seems to be working," he said. My blood pressure was normal for the first time in five years.

Then my counselor suggested I find another job. At the time, my daughter was in college and my husband was unemployed. So right away, I looked around for a place where my professional publishing experience could be used.
