Unifying Men, Women, and Nations

OUR WORLD can seem like a fast–paced array of events swirling around us with many competing interests. There are times when it appears that there are many different factions, all competing for resources, recognition, power, or just our attention. But people of faith have a foundation of truth on which to draw when they’re faced with the prospect of a less than peaceful view of life. Instead, they can hold to the spiritual fact that life isn’t an endless stream of power struggles.

There are two especially valuable ways to replace such a false picture of life with a more harmonious and unifying experience of the day ahead. For me, one is studying the Bible and the Christian Science textbook, Science and Health with Key to the Scriptures, by Mary Baker Eddy. This always leads me to the second response, which is turning to the sanctuary of prayer, where spiritual ideas lead me one step at a time.

I might begin by acknowledging that there is no material intelligence. God, or divine Mind, is the one intelligence. He is the principle of universal harmony. And He doesn’t make mistakes.
