For peace and progress in the Middle East
Marta Greenwood, a practitioner and teacher of Christian Science, who lives in London, England, was the guest on this live Sentinel audio chat on spirituality.com. Marta is a member of the Christian Science Board of Lectureship. She grew up in Iran and so has a deep interest in the events in the Middle East.
How do we keep from reacting to the brutality inflicted on people in Libya or Iran, and feeling bad about them?
When somebody is sinking into a bog, you don’t jump in the bog to save them, because you would both sink in together. You stand on the dry land where you are safe, and you throw them a line. So the thing to do to help these people is to know who is in control. We need to know that the government of God, Truth, is what they’re really under. That divine law is guiding them all the time and bringing them to safety. They’re all children of God. So it can happen for all parties under God’s, Truth’s, government to see this real freedom. Because it’s divine law that guides them all the way through. We’ll help bring about proof of that law, that government of Truth, which is already active in that place.
