In every place
I love hearing of healings that are directly connected to ideas from the Bible because I, too, have had many healings from studying its pages. Here’s one healing I had that continues to inspire me.
Years ago, I tripped on a sidewalk and injured my ankle. I prayed about it through my understanding of Christian Science and expected healing. But when a month had passed and the ankle still hurt, I became afraid that my prayers weren’t effective and I wouldn’t recover. I decided to spend that weekend focusing on overcoming these fears.
A few days after this, when I opened my Bible to study that week’s Christian Science Bible Lesson, I read where God spoke to Joshua: “Every place that the sole of your foot shall tread upon, that have I given unto you” (Joshua 1:3). Joshua was about to lead the children of Israel into the Promised Land when God gave him this assurance. I then saw a deeper spiritual meaning in this verse and how it related to my situation.
