“I had great confidence God would heal me”

When I found Christian Science many years ago, I was living in a small town in Cáceres, a province in the Extremadura region of Spain. One day my aunt told me that someone had given her and my uncle a book called Science and Health with Key to the Scriptures by a woman named Mary Baker Eddy, and that reading this book could heal.
At the time, I was working as an assistant in a pediatrician’s office. I had a problem with kidney stones and had been hospitalized several times. Since my last hospitalization had been so unpleasant, I had decided I would not return to the hospital again and would follow a different path.
Interested by what my aunt had told me about Science and Health, I got a copy of the book. As soon as I started reading it, I liked it a lot because it talked about harmony and goodness and God’s love for us. That really caught my attention. As I continued reading, I began to understand that God is good, He cares for us, He heals us, and He is All. I began to see myself as the daughter of God and to understand that I am spiritual.
