My toes were healed
Originally published in Portuguese
One day a year ago, I was dealing with a chemical product and accidentally burned two toes on my left foot.
This left a deep wound that caused me terrible pain. Seeking relief, I applied an ointment for burns, but the pain intensified, adding to my distress at the aggressive appearance of the wound. People around me warned me of the risk of a serious infection. At that point, however, I realized that I could rely on prayer and be certain that, as the child of God, Spirit, I was sheltered in divine Love, and my wholeness was assured.
I called a Christian Science practitioner for treatment through prayer. She reminded me that “we live, and move, and have our being” in God (Acts 17:28) and that God gave us dominion over everything, which means that we include the capacity to heal pain. At the end of our conversation, she lovingly said, “Call me back to tell me the good news of healing,” which gave me great comfort and the certainty of my complete recovery. I continued to pray diligently.
