Sterling Student Edition
This year marks 150 years since the publication of Science and Health with Key to the Scriptures by Mary Baker Eddy. We love to think about all that has been accomplished in those 150 years, how many lives have been made whole by learning about the actuality of God, as taught in Christian Science. The work we are doing in Christian Science has a real, demonstrable impact on our families, communities, and the world, as it will for ages to come.
We are grateful to announce the publication of the Sterling Student Edition of Science and Health. At Annual Meeting this past June, we spoke about how the way we live as Christian Scientists, our ability to demonstrate the Christ in our daily life, makes each of us the “new edition” of the Christian Science textbook. As our Leader writes, “The Master’s injunction is, that we pray in secret and let our lives attest our sincerity” (Science and Health, p. 15). This includes how we study the Science of Christianity, how we live it, how we prove it, how we share it, and how we promote its ideas.
This beautiful, clothbound hardcover edition is intended to support all who are studying and practicing the Science of the Christ, as discovered by Mrs. Eddy, particularly Sunday School students who are just starting out on their journey. As “the spiritual thoughts and representatives of Life, Truth, and Love” (Science and Health, p. 582), children represent an essential part of the healing legacy of Science and Health’s teachings. The compact size and durability of this book, along with the Sterling Student Edition of the Bible and their corresponding markers (coming soon), are perfect for young people learning to mark their books for the first time. Together as a set, these books can companion a lifelong study of God and Christian Science healing.
