A fruit-bearing book

When Jesus healed a man who had been blind his whole life, religious leaders quizzed the man. When the man said that Jesus had healed him, the retort was, “Give God the praise: we know that this man is a sinner.” The healed man’s answer cut through ambiguity and still does today: “Whether he be a sinner or no, I know not: one thing I know, that, whereas I was blind, now I see” (see John 9:1–25).

In other words, “By their fruits ye shall know them,” as Jesus himself said (Matthew 7:20). It’s on this same basis that Science and Health with Key to the Scriptures by Mary Baker Eddy proves its timeless worth today. A century and a half after it was first published on October 30, 1875, its ever-timely message continues to bear the fruits of sickness healed and straying hearts brought home to the consciousness of divine Love—awakened to all that it means to be the wholly spiritual offspring of a wholly good Father-Mother God, Spirit.

This issue invites you to rejoice in and be open to sharing a book that gives God all the praise, with stories of the ongoing healing fruits experienced by readers around the world still finding it to be, as its author told its earliest readers, our “teacher and guide” (Miscellaneous Writings 1883–1896, p. 136).
