Practical prophecy
Is prophecy relevant to your daily life? Few would say yes. After all, crystal balls are not a particularly common household item! But how many of us watched a weather report today and dressed accordingly? Or, if we live on a coast, knew when to expect high tide?
Maybe we’re more used to hearing such things called predictions rather than prophecies because they are based on what are considered fixed laws of cause and effect, while prophecy is generally thought of as otherwise unknowable information supplied by God to favored individuals rather than something based on a fixed principle or law.
But Christian Science teaches that God, Love, is Principle. Principle is eternal, unchanging good. Therefore, divine law must be as unchanging, good, and eternal as its Principle, Love. So can we not, then, make predictions as to our and others’ future health and harmony based on that reliable law of spiritual good instead of on supposed material laws?
