Pet allergies overcome

One day over a year ago, this sentence from Science and Health with Key to the Scriptures came to my thought: “Are we really grateful for the good already received?” (Mary Baker Eddy, p. 3).

I pondered why this had come to mind, and a moment later, this question followed: “Are you really grateful for each Christian Science healing you have had?” I knew this message was from God, so I said, “Thank you, Father. I’m very grateful for each healing.” Still listening for why this message was coming at that particular moment, I realized that it was because I was packing to visit my daughter’s home. Her family had a new cat, and I was being reminded to be grateful for the healing I’d had of being allergic to cats.

When I was a child and young adult, I could stay in a home with a cat for only a short time. My mother-in-law had a cat, and within half an hour of arriving at her house, I’d need to go sit in our car while the rest of the family stayed longer for a meal or visit. In the car, I would listen for any inspiration from God that would bring me peace. Sometimes my breathing remained difficult for many hours after even briefly being in a house with a cat.
