Love “bathes all in beauty and light”
We can all decide to feel the dominion of divine Love in our lives and experience the radiance of God.
I heard a news report claiming that by about 8:00 or 9:00 in the morning, people have already decided what kind of day they are going to have—a good day, a great day, a not-so-good day, a horrible day, or maybe some combination of the above. Maybe they didn’t have a good night’s sleep or are worried about finances, a health issue, or family matters. Maybe something as simple as being greeted by a grumpy family member throws them off.
While I could relate to the discussion, I found myself feeling so grateful that Christian Science has an answer for all of that. And it’s not putting on a phony smile or engaging in positive thinking. It is holy prayer, bringing our thought into accord with the law of God’s already-established harmony, that lights the way, that heals. As Mary Baker Eddy, the Discoverer and Founder of Christian Science writes in Science and Health with Key to the Scriptures, “Prayer cannot change the Science of being, but it tends to bring us into harmony with it” (p. 2).
One early morning after wrestling during the night with a fever, I woke up and was still feeling sick. But I was praying and expecting a quick healing. I went straight to my desk in my home office and began working with ideas from the Bible and Mrs. Eddy’s writings while my family was still asleep.
