My search for truth
Originally published in Spanish
I became acquainted with Christian Science more than twenty years ago in my native Colombia. From a young age, I was very interested in spiritual things, so I had participated in other Christian denominations and been active in two or three churches before hearing about Christian Science. I had always been in search of the truth but had never been satisfied with what I found. I felt that something was still missing.
I was an art student at that time and liked to browse gallery windows. While browsing, I found a notice in an art gallery about a Christian Science lecture the following day. The title caught my attention because it was about the true identity of man.
I wrote down the address and went to the lecture. As soon as the lecturer started speaking, she made an impression on me because she spoke a lot about truth. It seemed to me that this was what I had been looking for all my life and that the lecture was given just for me. After it was over, I stayed and talked to the people there about Christian Science, and I was happy to receive more information about the religion. Three months later I stopped attending the services of other denominations because I was certain about what I had found in Christian Science.
