Freed from leg pain
One evening a few years ago, I suddenly felt acute pain in my right leg. I wasn’t able to find a comfortable position either sitting or lying down. The pain made it impossible for me to focus and read the Bible or any Christian Science literature. So I prayed with spiritual ideas that I knew by heart, such as this from Science and Health with Key to the Scriptures by Mary Baker Eddy: “. . . There is no pain in Truth, and no truth in pain; . . .” (p. 113).
When I tried to walk to the bathroom and realized I couldn’t stand on the leg or walk without leaning on walls, I got scared and decided to call a Christian Science practitioner for treatment through prayer. She lovingly accepted my case.
A couple of hours later, the pain had lessened somewhat but was still strong and unsettling, so I again called the practitioner. She told me that God, divine Love, removes from our thought every erroneous suggestion. This spiritual truth quieted my thoughts, and I fell asleep. I slept peacefully through the night.
