Healing before choir concert
A recent physical healing resulted from inspired prayer in which I glimpsed something fresh and heartening about God’s tender love and healing power. It was one of those urgent-need-for-healing situations, which I’m sure many of us have experienced.
On Tuesday and Wednesday of that particular week, I got a creeping feeling that a nasty flu was coming on. While it felt very unpleasant physically, I was aware that what I was actually dealing with was a mental suggestion, as I’d learned from my study of Christian Science. But sadly, the door of my thought was not firmly shut to this unwanted suggestion.
Instead, by failing to immediately challenge it firmly and decisively, I unwittingly gave the suggestion permission to enter, and sure enough, on Thursday I was knocked sideways by severe flu symptoms, including losing my singing voice.
