Peace found, knee pain gone
At a time when I was struggling with a relationship, I was also experiencing a great deal of pain in my knee. I had difficulty walking and going up stairs. After a while, I realized that the knee problem was actually related to the painful disconnection in my relationship.
With that clarity, I prayed to be still and know that as the child of God’s care, I could not feel disturbed or separated from infinite, divine Love. I made every effort to find new inspiration each day as I read the Bible Lesson outlined in the Christian Science Quarterly and as many pages as I could of Science and Health with Key to the Scriptures by Mary Baker Eddy. I particularly looked for passages that discuss our identity as God’s spiritual reflection—whole, complete, and harmonious.
During this time of prayer, it became clear that it was not my job to fix the relationship. I was simply to love, without looking to change the other person. Our ability to feel and express love is not dependent on others but on our oneness with God, divine Love. I knew we could never be separated from each other, because God embraces us all in His love.
