Concussion symptoms overcome
I live in a rural area where winter morning walks are typically snowy and include the need to dodge the occasional passing snowplow. I use these walks as prayer time—time to talk with God as I have come to understand Him through my study of Christian Science.
A few years ago I was enjoying my walk when I heard a snowplow coming. To avoid it, I ran up the nearest driveway. After the plow had passed, I started back down. The driveway was steep, and my feet slipped out from under me. My head took the impact of the fall. Everything started to go black, but on the heels of that sensation came this mental message: “I can’t lose God, and if I can’t lose God, then I can’t lose consciousness.” This thought replaced the fear, and the blackness left.
Where had that fear-dispelling thought come from? And what had made it so powerful in my thinking? It had come from God, with His omnipotence behind it. I knew from my daily study of Christian Science that there are spiritual laws of health and harmony that we can rely on in any situation.
