A garden
Now in the place where he was crucified there was a garden; . . . There laid they Jesus.
—John 19:41, 42
At its best, a good garden
of virtually
any kind
is a site
quite holy
where the apparent wildness
of nature
is held
more or less
subordinate
to the nurture of Mind.
So, after Jesus was crucified,
was not
a garden,
or an oasis,
what one needed to find—
an enclosure
designed
for things buried to bloom,
or be fulfilled,
and thus reveal the Divine?
