Shining a light on the weekly Bible Lessons published in the Christian Science Quarterly®

Substance

Oh that men would praise the Lord for his goodness, and for his wonderful works to the children of men!

These words of praise are repeated three more times in this poem, each time introducing descriptions of God’s acts on behalf of humanity (see vv. 15 , 21 , 31 ). Some scholars believe the psalm was performed in parts, with a chorus singing the refrain.

The Bible Lessons serve as weekly study guides as well as the sermon in every Christian Science Sunday church service. Learn more at BibleLesson.com
