Spiritual gain in the face of loss
Recently, I was ignorantly taken in by an online scam that stripped me of the contents of my bank accounts and left my laptop infected with malware and vulnerable to more scamming.
This occurred on a Friday afternoon and by Saturday morning I was deeply distraught. I felt violated and frightened of further loss. And the feeling that it was because of stupidity on my part was painful.
After some soul-searching prayer, I recognized that I was not and could not be a victim. My resources are not based in material currency, but in God, divine Love, who meets all my needs. “Divine Love always has met and always will meet every human need” (Mary Baker Eddy, Science and Health with Key to the Scriptures, p. 494).
