Child’s bed-wetting stops
“I’ve tried everything!” our daughter told me, frustrated that none of the approaches she was using to deal with my granddaughter’s nightly bed-wetting had been effective. I responded, “Have you tried praying about this?”
I was confident that Christian Science could heal the problem, and I began praying for guidance. A hymn by Samuel Longfellow reminds us of God’s ever-present care, beginning, “I look to Thee in every need, / And never look in vain” (Christian Science Hymnal, No. 134). Every need! I was confident that this need, too, could be met.
I gave prayerful consideration to the word control, and was reminded of this statement in Science and Health with Key to the Scriptures by Mary Baker Eddy: “Neither organic inaction nor overaction is beyond God’s control; . . .” (p. 125). I also thought about another hymn that mentions (referring to God as divine Love) “Love’s sweet control” (Margaret Glenn Matters, Hymnal, No. 221, © CSBD).
