Quick healings of cold and flu
It was a Thursday evening, and I was about to conduct the weekly testimony meeting for the Christian Science organization at my university. The trouble was, I had a heavy cold and had lost my voice.
Seeing my predicament, another student attending the meeting quoted this statement from Science and Health with Key to the Scriptures by Mary Baker Eddy: “God is everywhere, and nothing apart from Him is present or has power” (p. 473). Then she added firmly, “I know it, I know it, I know it!” With that, we entered the meeting room.
The opening hymn I had chosen was a setting of Mrs. Eddy’s poem “Communion Hymn,” which begins:
