Church: A force for good (part one)

As individuals, we are each a force for good as we grow spiritually and bring to bear on all that we do a sense of the healing Christ. As brought out in Science and Health with Key to the Scriptures by Mary Baker Eddy, Christ is the true, spiritual idea Jesus showed us of God as everyone’s loving Father-Mother. Here, twenty- and thirty-somethings share why they feel church amplifies their ability to experience and express good in their lives.

Church is important because it helps us unite and feel connected to the same God. As two or three are acknowledging the ever-presence of God and recognizing that there’s only one power, we can move forward together and express this idea of God—this Christ-idea—for our community and the world. Church typifies that sense of unity. It helps us, as Hymn 593 in the Christian Science Hymnal: Hymns 430–603 says, gather together, ask the Lord’s blessing, sing of God’s goodness, and profess God’s grace with thanksgiving. It helps us support mankind with heartfelt prayers and be the light of the world.
