Normal vision restored
One day, I spent quite a lot of time out in the bright sunlight reading on my cellphone. When I came home that night, I could not see out of one eye. I thought it would be OK after a while, but when I woke up the next morning, I still couldn’t see with that eye.
I called a Christian Science practitioner for Christian Science treatment and started to pray. I went ahead with my day as planned and did not share with anyone else that I was having difficulty seeing.
During this time of prayer, I studied references to eyes, seeing, and vision from Science and Health with Key to the Scriptures by Mary Baker Eddy. Two examples were especially helpful: “Blindness and self-righteousness cling fast to iniquity” (p. 448) and “The real man being linked by Science to his Maker, mortals need only turn from sin and lose sight of mortal selfhood to find Christ, the real man and his relation to God, and to recognize the divine sonship” (p. 316).
