Grateful to be reminded
Thank you for “The value of self-knowledge” by Barbara Vining in the February 19, 2018, Sentinel. I just completed a month of jury duty and have been thinking about how Jesus’ concession to John’s baptism (or ritualism) was followed immediately in the Bible by Jesus’ wilderness experience and the temptations or suggestions to use spiritual methods for material gain.
I am grateful to be reminded of the article “The Way” in Mary Baker Eddy’s Miscellaneous Writings 1883–1896 (pp. 355–359) and the words of Jesus: “I am the way, the truth, and the life” (John 14:6)—a valuable reminder for a juror while sitting in court listening to testimony, seeing evidence, and then deliberating with the other jurors in arriving at the truth.
I always look forward to getting and reading my Sentinel articles and testimonies each week.

Outstanding issue
The February 5, 2018, Sentinel issue was outstanding. The healing accounts were wonderful, especially the healing of severe arthritis. The ideas shared in the testimonies, as well as those in the articles and in Sentinel Watch that demonstrated a change of thought and resulted in healing, were especially helpful.
