Thinking about things from God’s point of view
The other day I was thinking about things.
At least that’s how it started out. Just thinking. And the thoughts weren’t exactly positive. I was fretting about a distant family member’s problem and concerned about some work demands that hadn’t been resolved. Also, the nightly news had added a whole bunch of national and global issues to the overflowing in-tray of things needing to be thought about.
Thinking about problems is better than burying our heads in the sand and ignoring them. But just when I’d gotten as far I could in thinking things through, I had a moment of remembering to turn my attention from the problems to acknowledge God. You could call that my prayer for that evening. This prayer didn’t immediately heal the family member’s long-standing problem, nor did it instantaneously clear out my backlog of work concerns. And as you will have noticed, the world still faces ongoing issues that need resolving!
