Calm amid turmoil: What I learned from a heron
One day I was out walking, trying to calm my thought. I often go for walks when things don’t seem to be making sense or are contrary to the harmony that we have the God-given right to experience.
I stopped for a moment by a river. There had been quite a few days of heavy rain, and I could hear the river’s thunderous noise as it swept its way through the valley. It was flowing so fast that it drowned out all other noises. It perfectly illustrated the way I was feeling: drowned out by turmoil.
The heron was at peace, waiting and watching as the water stormed past.
