The lasting assurance of Christian Science
I devoted a great deal of my life’s journey to finding the truth of my being. This spiritual path took me from one teaching to another as I searched for a way to live that would be vital, real, and give me peace with God. Ultimately I found Christian Science, but first it took some hard-life bumps to get there.
I am grateful that my parents brought me up attending a Christian church every Sunday and that my mother impressed upon me that God was the most important being in my life. When I was perplexed by the twists and turns of human experience, God was always the Rock to which I turned.
Early in my adult spiritual quest, I followed fundamental evangelical Christianity. But it left me feeling unsatisfied, so I left it to pursue the messages of Scripture on my own. During those years, I taught my children about the Bible even though my husband wasn’t supportive of my religious convictions. Discovering a private fellowship with God, who loved and inspired me, was my antidote to the difficulties in my marriage, which I eventually felt led to end.
