Healing as Jesus healed—still possible today
In the Bible we read of wonderful healings accomplished by Christ Jesus. Thinking about such healings, we might wish that Jesus were still here to do such works. The good news is that healing in the way Jesus healed is still possible today.
This was proved to me when I was in graduate school and riding a bicycle to a part-time job. One day when I arrived home, I was experiencing great pain in my back. A few days earlier I had met a man who was a full-time Christian Science healer—a Christian Science practitioner. Hobbling to the phone, I called him for help.
I reminded the practitioner who I was, and I described my problem. He agreed to give me Christian Science treatment, and, as I hung up the phone, the pain and disability vanished completely. I called right back to report my total freedom. While this healing was some years ago, I still vividly remember the joy it gave me. The quick relief I experienced was one of my earliest proofs that healing in the way Jesus healed is possible through the divine Science of the Christ.
