Healing of painful ribs
My wife introduced me to Christian Science. We had many discussions about religion and particularly Christian Science before we married, but while I could see the positive side of it, I didn’t really buy into all the ideas. I felt that it could possibly help with the healing process, but couldn’t understand how it could heal more physical problems such as broken bones, etc.
This view changed a few years into our married life. We had two quite young children and were driving back from a weekend away. As I suddenly twisted around in the car to quiet down the children, I felt a sharp pain in my side; it felt as if I had cracked a rib.
The pain persisted the next day while I was at work. At the time I worked just down the road from a local hospital, and I considered getting an X-ray. I reasoned that if it showed I did have a cracked rib, then I would be able to test whether I could heal it through prayer and get physical proof that Christian Science worked. I determined that I would go get an X-ray after work that day.
