Healing of pulled back muscle
I am so grateful for the teachings of Christian Science, which support a life of spiritual growth through a deep understanding of our oneness with God. And also for the fullness of blessing that our daily prayers bring, far beyond some of my expectations.
Here’s an example I recently had of the value and utility of praying daily for ourselves. One morning, I had resolved to pray about feelings of frustration I had been experiencing. My focused prayer and study of the Bible and Science and Health with Key to the Scriptures, by Mary Baker Eddy, led me to take time to cherish man’s true qualities: purity, innocence, joy, meekness, order, receptivity, intelligence, kindness, energy. I knew that God’s man includes me and that these qualities do not include any frustration. They are always in operation. The truth of my being is unblemished perfection. I do not have a selfhood apart from God.
I thought about this promise from Job 23:14: “For he performeth the thing that is appointed for me: and many such things are with him.” It reminded me that I exist to express God, and that He will guide my thoughts and experiences.
