Waking to ‘God’s day’
One morning as I was experiencing the dawning of a new day, I prayed with the Christian Science Bible Lesson and read and felt the warmth of Christ Jesus’ words: “These things I have spoken unto you, that in me ye might have peace. In the world ye shall have tribulation: but be of good cheer; I have overcome the world” (John 16:33).
This made me think about how, once we have understood the light of truth in Christian Science, even to a small degree, false human beliefs about ourselves and our world begin to disappear. As I continued to ponder this, I felt a strong gleam of spiritual light burning within me. The understanding that divine Mind is always ready to help and heal, and that our real life is the reflection of the divine Life, became clear.
A complete change took place in my approach to the day that was just beginning. I saw the possibility of experiencing the unfoldment of Love in each situation. I saw the possibility that every person, place, and situation in my day—if approached with a sense of radiant, unselfed love—could immediately be understood in their true nature, as expressions of divine Love.
