Wasp sting healed
Several years ago I was working for one of the summer camps for Christian Scientists. I worked in the maintenance group and was responsible for a crew of campers in the worker program. We would do odd jobs around the property to ensure its upkeep.
One day our job was to clean out an old storage cabin. In this cabin there were sheets of plywood leaning against a wall. As we were clearing this stack of wood, I pulled a sheet back to move it, and I disturbed a wasps’ nest. I was stung on the top of one of my hands as we all cleared the building. I began praying as I went back to my truck to put on a work glove that would cover my hand. I felt this would help me not to focus on any physical symptoms.
That night my hand was tender and swollen. I continued to pray with several ideas, including this statement from Science and Health with Key to the Scriptures by Mary Baker Eddy: “All of God’s creatures, moving in the harmony of Science, are harmless, useful, indestructible” (p. 514). There was no physical change for the next 48 hours.
