Healing of facial injuries after a fall
As I was heading into a convenience store to buy a daily paper, I tripped over a curb in the parking lot and fell forward with great force. My face bore the brunt of the fall. Some people gathered, and someone was kind enough to bring me some wet paper towels so that I could wipe the cuts on my face. My nose and teeth had hit the hardest. Although it was quite painful, I was grateful nothing was broken.
After completing my purchase, I drove home and telephoned a Christian Science practitioner, who responded immediately to my request for his prayerful help. I cleaned my face gently, but I avoided looking at the damage for several days in order to leave my thought more receptive to the prayerful work being done.
My daily study of the Christian Science Bible Lesson helped turn my thought away from the material condition to the reality of my spiritual perfection as God’s child.
