Healed on a business trip
I was in the midst of an extended business trip when I tripped and fell in the shower, hitting the back of my head on the edge of the tiles. As I lay there for a moment getting my bearings, the first thought that came to me was the Golden Text from that week’s Christian Science Bible Lesson: “Heal me, O Lord, and I shall be healed; save me, and I shall be saved: for thou art my praise” (Jeremiah 17:14). That turned out to be a key verse that would lead to a complete healing.
When I stood up, I was dizzy and the pain in my head was intense—I was not able to brush my hair because of it. During this time, I kept thinking about the promise from Jeremiah: God would heal me. God would save me. And I praised His ever-presence.
Before getting ready for work, I went back and reread the Bible Lesson. I was especially struck by the final citation from Science and Health with Key to the Scriptures by Mary Baker Eddy: “To infinite, ever-present Love, all is Love, and there is no error, no sin, sickness, nor death” (p. 567).
