Grasping our God-given dominion
One day at work I was trying to prepare a snack, some English crumpets, using a basic sandwich press. Because of lack of counter space in my office, the sandwich press was sitting on the floor at my feet as I worked at my desk. At one point I bent down to open the latch on the sandwich press, but instead of grabbing the handle, I found myself unwittingly holding the back of the sandwich press, where there was an exposed and very hot coil.
For some time before this happened, I had been reading and studying a poem called Christ and Christmas, written by Mary Baker Eddy, and my reading had left me feeling particularly inspired. One verse that had stood out to me helped me realize that Christ, Truth, must be demonstrated. It reads:
