Illness before trip healed
Some years ago, I planned to go on a trip to a distant part of the country. This trip was a walking tour and involved being on my feet each day for most of a two-week period.
One week prior to the trip, I became so ill that I was unable to carry out my daily activities or leave my home. I was unable to dress myself or eat, and sleeping was difficult.
As a lifelong, third-generation Christian Scientist, I have seen and experienced many healings through spiritually scientific prayer, including a permanent healing of what seemed to be an internal growth (see “Faith in God heals internal growth,” Nancy Sanders, July 16, 2007, Sentinel). I knew that prayer based on the study and application of the divine Principle and rules of Christian Science was the only way I could have a quick and complete recovery. I urgently felt the need to buckle down and devote all my time and effort to prayer.
