‘Congratulations! No defects found.’
The antivirus scan complete, there’s a notice on my screen
Congratulating me that my computer is now clean.
But at this very moment, while feeling kind of blue,
I’m cheered to realize that I am free of errors too.
There is no mental spyware to harass me with self-blame,
To corrupt my spotless selfhood and malign my blessed name.
Love disallows that taunting and sweeps it all away,
Just as it did for troubled ones redeemed in Jesus’ day.
I’m wiser now regarding those temptations I once bought.
Those empty-promise pop-ups are unworthy of my thought,
As are unwanted items such as sickness, hate, and fear.
They have no place in God, my Mind, so how can they appear?
The Christly scan continues on, sifting wheat from tare,*
Ensuring it’s the good and true of which I am aware.
Holy thoughts enlighten me, and now I understand
The truth about my status: upright, pure, and grand.
