Healed on a morning run
This is adapted from a testimony originally posted during The Mother Church’s online Wednesday testimony meeting.
There’s nothing like a run in the early morning. It’s a fun way to wake up. But one morning, soon after I started, I felt pain in one of my legs. I was tempted to stop right there. But I quickly countered the fear that I might be injured, by turning to God in prayer.
I realized that while watching the US Open Tennis Championships not long before, I had heard a lot of banter about the health and ages of athletes. I asked myself, mid-stride, “Am I accepting false material beliefs about age controlling our health or well-being?”
I then started praying with “the scientific statement of being,” found in Science and Health with Key to the Scriptures by Mary Baker Eddy on page 468. I thought about the truths in that statement, which talks about how God, Spirit, is All, and we are His spiritual reflection—so matter is not part of our real identity.
