Healed in church
While traveling overseas, I started to feel the symptoms of a painful illness while I was getting ready for church on a Sunday morning. I wondered if I would still be able to go to church, but I dismissed this doubt, knowing that church was my right place to be that morning.
I prayed to know that nothing could thwart my right to be a part of the healing church service. I affirmed that it’s God, Spirit, that governs my being and maintains my harmony, so the material symptoms had no reality and couldn’t keep me from being where I needed to be.
As I drove to the church, I gave gratitude that the service had been prepared for prayerfully by the members of the church. I knew that I would be hearing the Christian Science Bible Lesson read from the Pastor of the Church of Christ, Scientist—the Bible and Science and Health with Key to the Scriptures, by Mary Baker Eddy. I felt comforted knowing that the Lesson-Sermon was the same sermon that would be read in each Church of Christ, Scientist, around the world.
