Severe case of varicose veins healed
Originally published on JSH-Online as a Sentinel “News of Healing” podcast titled “One Mind” (April 15, 2015).
I owe many thanks to Christian Science for what I’ve learned about my spiritual nature and the role my thought plays in my health and well-being.
Years ago, as a new student of this Science, I was quite impressed with the quick turnarounds I had when sick, and with the instances when I was the only one in a group not to catch something going around. Because of Christian Science, I learned about the dominion God gave us over false material concepts of life, and about the qualities that have their source in God—such as courage, strength, and discipline—which help us overcome problems in our lives. But I’ve also been finding that health and safety—for myself, for my family, and for the whole world—require something more, something that recently led to a powerful healing.
In my healing practice, the concept of God as Mind has always resonated with me. And I’ve often thought about how I can understand this concept better. Often it feels as if we each have our own separate mind, which is not connected to God, divine Mind. But if we are the reflection, the very expression, of God, then we must reflect only the Mind that is God.
