Pain and nausea healed
I have been a student of Christian Science for many years. It has been a very present help in troubled times. It is responsible for many healings and, I believe, for my continued good health.
A short time ago, while attending a business meeting at my branch Church of Christ, Scientist, on a Monday evening, I began to feel discomfort in my lower back. By the time I reached home after the meeting, I was feeling sick to my stomach and decided to pray about the situation.
I prayed to know that as God’s spiritual idea, I could not be ill and I didn’t have to accept these feelings as part of my true identity. This knowledge came from my study of the Bible and the Christian Science textbook, Science and Health with Key to the Scriptures by Mary Baker Eddy. The Bible tells us in the first chapter of Genesis that we are made in God’s image and likeness, and that He created all that was made and it was very good. And in “the scientific statement of being,” given in Science and Health, we read, “Spirit is God, and man is His image and likeness” (p. 468). I affirmed that these statements were true, but the pain and illness continued all night.
