Healed while traveling
Originally written in Portuguese, this testimony first appeared as an article in the November 2014 Portuguese, Spanish, French, and German editions of The Herald of Christian Science.
In May of 2013, I had the wonderful opportunity to travel to Tibet. I prayed a lot during my preparation for the trip and gained one inspiration after another. Everything unfolded so perfectly, and I was elated to finally be there.
This trip was organized by my college, located in the United States, for students interested in learning more about the politics, religion, and history of that region of Asia. We would stay one week in the Chinese capital, Beijing, and three weeks in Tibet.
Tibet is known as the “rooftop of the world” because it’s located in one of the world’s highest regions. During our journey there, our Chinese guide very seriously explained all the risks involved with being in a region at such an altitude. She warned us that problems such as breathing difficulties and dizziness were common, and that we should alert her if we experienced such symptoms.
