Healed on a family vacation
Some years ago my family took a beach vacation together. Early on in the trip, my husband was playing with our young children in the shallow water, when suddenly he felt a debilitating pain in one foot. We later learned he had likely been cut and stung by something in the water.
I helped my husband return to the house where we were staying. He had relied on Christian Science for healing for most of his life and wanted to do so now. I started calling some of the local Christian Science practitioners, but I could not get through to any of them.
I was feeling anxious, so I stopped to pray for myself so that I could feel God’s presence and listen for divine direction. This quiet moment helped me feel more at peace. I then called another practitioner, who answered, spoke with me compassionately, and began at once to give my husband Christian Science treatment. She also said she would arrange for a Christian Science nurse to come to the house. Our conversation was very calming.
