A foundation for life
Of all the classes I’ve taken in my life, Christian Science class instruction was the one that I valued the most. What I learned in class has continued to bless me more and more, year after year.
When I became a Christian Science nurse, I leaned heavily on what I had learned in class instruction as my foundation for my nursing practice. My nursing practice showed me that Christian Science is so much more than just theory; through the spiritual understanding and deep conviction that class instruction gave me, I saw many proofs of Christian Science healing.
As a Christian Science nurse, I sometimes shared with patients some of what class instruction meant to me, and these dear patients then shared with me their own experiences with class. I remember one patient telling me that she could not remember how to give a Christian Science treatment for herself. I asked her to revisit her notes from class, and I said we would both share our thoughts on Christian Science treatment during my next visit. The next time I visited, not only did we have a helpful discussion about Christian Science treatment but there was a tangible feeling of joy between both of us as we remembered what we had learned during class.
