Our occasional series on how people have nurtured their public practice of Christian Science healing.

Be willing to change

Listening and obedience were the initial spiritual qualities requisite to my becoming a Christian Science practitioner. Let me explain.

For many years I yearned to go into the public practice, but there seemed to be other demands on my time. During this period, however, I was becoming a better branch church member. I was accepting new tasks, loving my fellow church members with greater patience and appreciation, and learning to quiet my own opinions. Trusting divine Mind to govern church decisions became an important discipline.

Of course, there were challenges both in church and at home, but I was learning that since God, Love, is All, He could and would help me be an asset to my branch church and my home. I truly wanted to learn how to be a better Christian and a better healer.
