You can be made new—now!

As an orchid grower, I love the early morning when I nurture my plants. Daily, plants show new shoots, leaves, and beautiful blooms. For me, these signs are like the new day, which brings with it the light of spiritual development for each of us.

We are not like plants; so how do we grow? While a material sense of things may argue that we develop a physical body, which then grows old and decays, Christian Science enables us to prove that each day we grow new in our understanding of God. We are His ideas.

We make all things new through our rejection of time-worn beliefs and theories, adding to our acceptance of what God has created us to be. This growth takes place in consciousness as we gain an improved understanding of our true being, unfolding to us the concept of perfect God and perfect man. As Mary Baker Eddy puts it: “Perfection underlies reality. Without perfection, nothing is wholly real” (Science and Health with Key to the Scriptures, p. 353).
