Stepping forward fearlessly
It was a late summer afternoon in Boston’s Back Bay. As I walked across the Christian Science Plaza toward the sunset, I paused for a few minutes to watch kids of all ages run in and out of the gleaming arches of the fountain.
Then I noticed this little fellow, who paused before plunging forward. For a moment, he seemed so alone, even in the midst of so much activity! Despite the shrieks of joy from other kids, suggesting there was nothing to be afraid of, he hesitated, as so many of us do when we’re not sure what lies ahead—especially, perhaps, at this time of year.
