A couple months ago, I heard a news report about Shin Dong-hyuk, the only North Korean known to have escaped from a North Korean prison camp. The story was heartbreaking, and while I was delighted he was now safe, I couldn’t help but think about the others who are still interned. I started praying daily for the North Koreans, especially those in brutal prison camps. So I was delighted to read Shelly Richardson’s excellent article, “For freedom in North Korea” [Sentinel, October 15]. It is uplifting to know many are praying about this situation. In Psalms 1:6, we read, “For the Lord knoweth the way of the righteous; but the way of the ungodly shall perish.” The way of the ungodly will perish—leaving only the way of Truth and Love for all God’s children to follow. Thank you.

The subject of suicide is one that needs to be addressed head-on. That is what you have done [“Breaking the spell of suicide,” October 8 Sentinel]. I think you have shown it for the “con” that it really is. I can’t think of a more timely topic. The articles have a great informal tone that people can easily relate to. They offer a path that leads out of the quagmire of mere human analysis to the real and only choice—inspiration and expression.
