From a spark of an idea . . .to a movie
Film producer Karen Glasser from Los Angeles answers Kids’ questions about her work.
What made you think of being a filmmaker?
As a kid growing up in rural Texas, I didn’t go to the movies much. But my mom would order books through the mail, and I developed a love of storytelling and an appreciation for good writing. And good writing and storytelling are at the heart of any well-made film. Good movies can transport you to places you might not go to otherwise. Not just visually, but spiritually, intellectually, emotionally. Think about the different and magical world of the Harry Potter movies. Or how about Pirates of the Caribbean!
What are some things a film producer has to do?
