Dog bite—healed quickly

It was in the middle of my soccer game, and I got the ball to throw it in. When I ran up to throw the ball, a dog leaped out from the sidelines and bit me on my side. At first I was too surprised to realize what had happened. But then I fell to the ground crying, and I was pretty shocked. I closed my eyes and said, “God is with me.” I knew that God made His creation good. That meant me and the dog. Then I immediately denied that the dog meant any harm.

When I opened my eyes, my coach, my parents, and people I didn’t even know were helping me. I lay there while they cleaned and bandaged up the bite marks. I prayed that the dog was safe and that nothing could hurt me because I was a child of God. I love God because He loves all—animals and humans. My parents were also praying.

The daughter of the dog’s owner was very upset. I told her that I was fine and gave her a hug. When I sat down, the whole team swarmed around me, telling me that I needed to go to the hospital. But I assured everyone that I was fine. I wanted to pray about it. Then I asked my coach if I could go back into the game, and he let me play again.
